Access Key & Lock

Access Locksmiths was founded in 1998 by Mark Whettingsteel, a locksmith who started his career as a trainee locksmith back in 1985.  After working for a few other local locksmiths he decided that a new, fresh approach was needed in the industry. In the spring of 1998 Mark started his own mobile locksmith and security business.

It was not long before Access Locksmiths became a limited company and opened it's first branch in Portswood, Southampton in March 2000. We fast became known for our professional approach within the locksmithing industry and pride ourselves on our quality of work and good customer service.

With three engineers on the road and a knowledgeable team in branch, it proved to be a fast growing business. In 2005 Access Locksmiths Limited purchased Key and Lock Supplies Limited of Bournemouth, a company established in 1969, and gained an array of experienced staff with over 30 years expertise.  Access Locksmiths Limited then re-branded its trading name to Access Key & Lock.

In 2009 Access Key & Lock purchased Centre Security Limited, a company established in 1978, and gained yet another fantastic team of very experienced locksmiths, plus two more branches in Fareham and Southsea.

Collectively our team of locksmiths are probably some of the best in the UK.  They have a wealth of knowledge in Locksmithing, Ironmongery, and all aspects of security, with over 40 Years experience in the trade.

Since becoming Access Key & Lock we have won Britain’s Best Security Retailer award for 2008, 2009, 2010 & 2011.

In 2012 we opened our new head office in Fareham's Pennant Park. Our largest premises now houses the majority of our staff and much more stock, thus giving YOU an even better service.
